WHY?
The United Kingdom's motor sport and specialist motor industry is world class.
However, few young people choose engineering as a career path at secondary school.
Few secondary schools offer a 'real world' engineering curriculum.
Therefore, higher education and industry suffer from a lack of suitable students entering applied engineering.
